OUR ENGINEERING PROCESS

From a Production Problem to a Machine That Runs Reliably

What a factory really buys is not a drawing, but the certainty that the machine will run reliably. The five-stage process at HASY Industries is how we have delivered that certainty since 2012.

A TRANSPARENT BUILD PROCESS

Machine building at HASY Industries follows a set sequence: site survey, 3D design, machining, PLC programming and real-world trials. We hold two control points: trials with real material at the HASY workshop before the machine ships and acceptance at the factory before the technical documents are handed over.

LESSONS FROM THE SHOP FLOOR

Two Steps That Decide Whether a Project Is Delivered on Time

Across more than 250 delivered projects, we have found that quality and schedule depend heavily on two control points:

CONTROL POINT 01

3D Review — Sign Off Carefully Before Any Steel Is Cut

This is when design changes are cheapest and fastest. Once steel is cut and assemblies are welded, every change adds cost and time.

HASY rule: We ask both the lead engineer and the person who will actually operate the machine on the client side to review the 3D model and comment on working position, feed direction and safe operating zones.

CONTROL POINT 02

FAT Trial — Mandatory Load Testing with Real Material

Trials with substitute material or theoretical simulation can miss the jams, thermal expansion or sticking friction of the real product.

HASY rule: The machine is tested at the HASY workshop with the client’s real material (food powders, rubber, garment fabric…). Finding and fixing faults at the workshop is far cheaper and faster than after the machine reaches the factory.

THE 5-STAGE ROADMAP

Our 5-Stage Build and Handover Process

Our reference process, from the first brief to the machine running on your factory floor. Steps and acceptance criteria are adjusted and agreed for each project:

Inside a factory
STAGE 01

Survey & Problem Analysis

HASY engineers visit the factory to observe the bottleneck, measure the floor space, check sample workpieces and talk directly with the operators.

  • Set the targets: output, accuracy, level of automation.
  • Check power, compressed air and ambient temperature.
  • Deliver a feasibility report: build new, upgrade an existing machine, or buy off the shelf.

STAGE 02

3D Design & Detailed Quote

Build a complete 3D model and calculate the drive kinematics. Prepare a detailed cost estimate.

  • Simulate the 3D motion of the gripping, pressing, cutting and pushing mechanisms.
  • Design the electrical schematics.
  • The client reviews, comments and signs off the 3D design.

STAGE 03

Machining, Assembly & PLC Programming

Machine the parts, weld the frame, assemble the drive mechanisms, wire the control cabinet and program the PLC/HMI.

  • Machine the parts and finish the surfaces.
  • Wire the control cabinet, label the wires and route cables in safe cable chains.
  • Write the PLC program and HMI screens.

STAGE 04

FAT Trial at the Workshop with Real Material

The machine is run without load and under load with the client’s own material at the HASY workshop. The client comes in person to check output before the machine ships.

  • Check cycle time, dimensional error and noise.
  • Full test of safety functions and E-Stop emergency stops.
  • Sign the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) record.

STAGE 05

SAT Installation, Operator Training & Document Handover

Transport, install and connect the machine to the factory line, run the SAT during a real production shift, train the operators and hand over the technical documents per the contract.

  • Assemble and synchronise with the existing production line.
  • Hands-on training in operation, troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
  • Hand over technical documents within the agreed scope.

QUALITY CONTROL

4 Checks Before Handover

The checks HASY Industries runs before a machine ships and is handed over:

01. Machined dimensions

Measure machined part dimensions and shaft concentricity, and inspect load-bearing welds.

02. Electrical safety & E-Stop

Check electrical safety, phase sequence and the E-Stop emergency stops.

03. Continuous load test with real material

Run continuously at full load with real production material to check motor temperature and stability.

04. Technical document handover

Hand over drawings, electrical diagrams and operating documents within the scope agreed in the contract.

SCHEDULE & HANDOVER

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Process & Acceptance

Answers on the difference between FAT and SAT, the documents handed over, progress tracking and operator training.

FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is the trial run at the HASY workshop with the client’s real production material, to confirm output, defect rate and safety before the machine is packed and shipped. SAT (Site Acceptance Test) takes place at the client’s factory after the machine is installed and connected to the line, checking it works with the feed system and real operating conditions before the final handover record is signed.

The handover documents are agreed in each project’s contract and usually include mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, a spare parts list and operating and maintenance instructions. Handover of the PLC/HMI source code follows the agreement with the client.

HASY keeps the client updated with real photos of each stage (machining, frame welding, cabinet assembly, I/O checks). Clients can visit the HASY workshop by appointment to inspect progress.

HASY Industries sends mechanical and automation engineers to train on site at the client’s factory: daily operation for operators, handling common alarms for the maintenance team, routine lubrication and adjusting parameters on the HMI touchscreen, until the factory team can run the machine on its own. Training time depends on the complexity of the machine.
